Ebay’s Digital Download Ban Got You Down?
If you are into internet marketing at all, you know by now that Ebay recently banned the sale of digital goods (or more to the point – anything that can be transferred to the buyer digitally.) Yes, that really did hit a nerve with many people. But stop and think about it: in the overall grand scheme of things, don’t you think that this is actually good for those that are serious about internet marketing? Let me explain. For years, thousands have profited by selling digital eBooks on Ebay. Fine. But as time went on, many sellers started using garbage 1 penny sales to blatantly increase their feedback ratings. Plus, many good marketers that sold their goods to others with private label rights, were finding their hard work being given away using those 1 penny ads! It sucked! So now, Ebay comes along and bans digital goods from being sold as an auction. GOOD FOR THEM! For those of us serious about this business, there are still ways you can sell your eBooks on Ebay, but now have an OPPORTUNITY to build a better product, which can lead to more trust being built between you and your customer, and finally leads to being able to make much more money!! Think about it – you can now offer for sale your goods, IN CD FORMAT, that allows you to fill that CD with more offers for your products (or affiliate products!) While, yes, delivery via CD does not satisfy a user’s need for immediate gratification, they may see a higher perceived value BECAUSE it is on CD (or DVD for that matter!) Plus you can still offer your eBook for sale via a classified ad on Ebay. For $10 bucks, your ad can still be seen along side other auctions, by using good/relevant keywords. Remember too that Ebay’s Classifieds can be used as a lead generation system to help build your list of potential buyers. Overall, this is a good thing for those who really want to create an internet marketing business.
