Traffic Generation – Using Giveaways
Here is part six in a series about how to drive traffic to your site. In this sixth part, I want to discuss using Giveaways as a way to generate traffic. Giveaways are a very powerful way to not only drive traffic to your site, but they can also be used to build your list of potential customers. If you go to Gurudaq.Com, you will find a very extensive list of internet marketers. I suggest that you go to each of their sites, and sign up for their email newsletters. The reason is that you will now be in the “loop” and will know when a giveaway even is happening. Yes, you will be receiving quite a bit of their sales pitches, but if you take some time to actually read a few, not only will you be in on new product launches, BUT you can also learn marketing and copywriting from these same people! Ok … sorry, got off track a little bit! Back to how giveaways help get you traffic. Create a short 10-15 page eBook with useful information. Don’t be afraid to give away some good information. Trust me, if you gain their trust, you will have a paying customer later and possibly for life! Fill this freebie with good information and link back as much as possible to your main site or blog. I would suggest that you make the footer area something like this: © 2008, mymainsite.com … and make the link clickable. Use the first few pages and the last page to tell people to visit your main site. If you made a decent enough short report, you will find your report being shared all over the place! Remember: make it short, yet useful; build up trust with your customers; and you will get traffic!
