Why are you using Adsense?
Several years ago, it was almost too easy to make money online just building sites for Adsense. It was simple – build tons of sites, submit them to search engines, do some blackhat stuff and then sit back and watch the money roll in. Today, with Google trying to crack down on MFA (Made for Adsense) sites, it is a lot tougher to make a really good income from only Adsense. While Adsense does still supply people with an income, relying only on it is not a wise choice. Diversity – that is not only a smart choice, but a good business decision. I know you have heard the phrase – don’t put all your eggs in one basket…which is wise ;-) You have a bunch of choices that you can use either in place of only Adsense or along side Adsense. For example, you can choose to use other contextual ads such as Kontera or Yahoo Publisher Network. You can also use resources such as similar / affiliate products that are in the same niche as your website or blog posts. Examples of these would be resources like Clickbank, PayDotCom, Deal Dot Com, $7 Dollar Offers, and others. Better yet, creating your own product to pitch in place of the Adsense code. Think about it: would you rather make an average $.10 to $.25 cents per click or would you make $1.00 or more per click? Here is an example: You have a blog about dog training and so your posts are related to dog training in general. Let’s say that you get a 10% click through rate on your Adsense ads (and these ads are paying you $.25 per click). You get 100 visitors to your site, which gives you 10 people that clicked on the Adsense ad, for a total of $2.50. On the other hand you instead opt to pitch an affiliate product that pays you $20 per sale. Using those same 100 visitors, but this time you only have a very conservative 1% conversion rate, you make 1 sale per 100 visitors. You just made $20.00 versus $2.50! I don’t know about you, but I would much rather make $20.00 for the EXACT same work as it did to make $2.50! How about you? ;-)
